Clean Tech Challenge 2015 Winner
The theme for the Clean Tech Challenge 2015 was, "Feed the World". From that, we designed The Water Trotter! For the competition, we were asked to produce a model of the device, poster boards explaining everything about it, as well as give a ten minute presentation to a panel of four judges explaining why we had the best project out there. Out of 350 teams, ten finalists were chosen. Of those ten, only four were American teams. The other teams included people from all around the world such as Singapore and Portugal. We were also the only American team to place in the top three. Because we won first place, we won $10,000 for the team and to continue our project, $1,000 for a school or nonprofit of our choice, and a mentorship with Dr. Frederic Bertley, Senior VP of Science and Education at the Franklin Institute. We look forward to the upcoming year and working to launch the Water Trotter!
